Contemporary renovation to listed building
Our client, an architect, had already drawn up plans for her A listed home in Glasgow's Southside. She called on our skills and expertise to make sure they were realised properly.
The Challenge
Our clients Nicola and Brian had already drawn up plans for their renovation project, which included a new kitchen, and asked us to make sure the transformation was carried out successfully with great attention to detail.
The Solution
During the works, we uncovered dry rot, a leaking roof and unsupported stone work, all of which we managed to find a solution for swiftly and professionally.
We removed walls ceilings and floors, we created a storage area with wine rack and installed a new roof over the kitchen extension. We installed new oak flooring throughout the dining room and hallway and fully plastered and decorated the hall, dining and kitchen. During the works we uncovered an original sandstone wall, which has now become a beautiful feature in the kitchen area.
The Results
The A listed period home now has a beautiful and striking new kitchen along with modern detailing sympathetic to the property.
nest carried out the refurbishment of our Category A listed house with efficiency.
It was not the easiest of projects due to the age of the property, but nest were great in organising their trades and maintaining a high quality of workmanship. We would not hesitate to recommend nest."
