Contemporary house extension

House renovation and contemporary extension in Glasgow's West End for a lovely retired couple who embrace contemporary architecture

The Challenge

Our lovely clients Hugh and Annette asked us to transform their home. It had become a little dated and required some love and tlc. This included a full renovation and a new rear extension.

The Solution

We worked closely with our architects to create a stunning, new contemporary extension to the rear of the property. This allowed a panoramic view of the landscaped rear garden and local wildlife. The extension was clad in cedar and zinc and it was great to work with clients who embraced contemporary architecture.

We removed an internal load bearing wall to create a gorgeous, bright, open plan living and dining space.

Internally we refurbished all bedrooms, bathroom, lounge and kitchen and supplied and fitted new double glazed window throughout and a wood burning stove in the lounge.

The Results

Hugh and Annette spend most of their time in the new extension now and love the way the light floods into the house.

Here's what they had to say about us -

Our home has been completely transformed and we are so glad we chose nest to guide us through the process. Our original idea was an extension with the objective of more light into our dining area. However, thanks to Dene, Debbie and their team of tradesmen, we were inspired, supported and given confidence to be more ambitious with our plans.

Dene helped us look at our home with a new perspective and make the most of the budget allocated. We are delighted with the end result and appreciate the attention to detail characteristic of the nest design approach. Having one point of contact throughout, Dene has been extremely reassuring with snagging promptly attended to.

nest widened our vision as to the possibilities for our home and we are thrilled with the end result.
