Chic flat refurbishment

Full internal renovation of a beautiful, airy flat in Glasgow's West End.

The Challenge

Our clients approached us to refurbish internal rooms and transform their kitchen, lounge, dining room, bathroom and ensuite. Much of the changes were decorative and involved a great deal of design and specification from nest. We created an online mood board to help focus the various areas and present ideas, which the client loved.

The Solution

In the lounge we installed a gorgeous, contemporary wood burning stove. This created a focal point and we altered all the furniture and layout which gave a whole new feel to the space. Contemporary Tom Dixon lights had an amazing backdrop of ornate original cornicing.

The bathroom and ensuite were modernised and the small cloakroom had unusual and quirky personal objects from the clients on show.

The kitchen was transformed and looks stunning. The colour scheme is much brighter and contemporary and our clients myriad cookery books take pride of place on a specially made display case. We advised to declutter other areas - the rooms now flow well and form the hub of the home.

The Results

Our clients are delighted with the transformation and love the new interior.

I came across nest several years ago and made a note to enlist their help when it was time to renovate my flat. Having someone experienced managing the project made it so much less nerve-shredding for me.

nest's tradespeople were tidy, efficient and great fun. It was not all straightforward, with weather, legal issues around a chimney and other logistical problems getting in the way, but nest were fantastic and we got there in the end. The flat now looks as good as I dared to hope that it could.
