Contemporary extension & kitchen

We were asked to create a contemporary extension to a traditional 3 bedroom semi detached villa. The project involved redesigning the kitchen and dining room and extended into the garden. We created a new downstairs cloakroom within an existing cupboard.

We were able to achieve a 24m² extension without the need for planning permission due to permitted development rights. If we had required planning permission, the modern aesthetic of the extension would have been refused by the planners.

The cedar clad extension has a flat roof, corner glazed windows and bespoke glazed sliding cedar door. This leads onto a slate tile and decked area within the garden. The client is a keen cook and the new kitchen is both practical and reflects her passion for cooking.

New kitchen, dining & utility plus decked garden

Our clients wished to reconfigure the layout of their home to bring the layout and interior up-to-date and make it suitable for family life and entertaining. The existing kitchen and garage were reconfigured to include a kitchen, dining and utility areas. Steelwork, glazed doors and a new side window were installed to provide direct access to the garden and maximise the amount of space and light.

Externally, a new decked dining area connected the inside to the outside, the bi-folding oak doors, opening up the entire space. The client now has ample room to entertain friends and dine with their family in a bright, modern space.

Bespoke dining room, decking & landscaping

We were asked to design a unique, contemporary family friendly dining space. The client's Victorian scullery was transformed into a contemporary dining area complete with vaulted ceiling and handmade black American walnut finishings.

Our solution complemented the existing features of the house and extended into the garden area. The decked area complemented the walnut flooring and the new sliding doors opened up the inside to the outside.

The design included a handcrafted dining table, bespoke storage units, installation of a complex av and lighting system, steelwork and services and an internally-lit vaulted ceiling.
