Stunning house extension

Super cool, contemporary zinc clad kitchen diner house extension in Glasgow.

The Challenge

Our clients approached nest to develop the architectural drawings which they had had prepared. The project involved building a new contemporary zinc clad kitchen / diner extension, formation of a utility room, shower room along with a landscaping to the rear of the property.
We re-roofed the house and carried out work to our clients garage.

The Solution

We have created a super cool, contemporary, zinc clad house extension. The zinc wraps around the roof onto the rear elevation seamlessly and creates a beautiful, unique addition to the traditional sandstone building. The space is flooded with light due to the large skylight and
bi-folding doors. Large steel beams were installed to create a large opening in the rear elevation allowing the extension to seamlessly integrate with the garden. 

The Results

Audrey and Jim are delighted with the project and love the way light fills the space. Their grandchild can now play safely in the newly landscaped garden and they love to entertain in their new contemporary kitchen.

This project was undertaken while we were on an extended opportunity in Australia, so we were spared the upheaval which was always going to be substantial in a project of this size in a house which is over 100 years old. 

Our architect designed an innovative and practical space. The team of workmen who undertook the job were skilled, efficient and personable to family members who popped in frequently throughout. The careful project management by Dene and the nest team has ensured the finished space is transformed into something rather breathtaking.

We are delighted with the finished extension. It has given us a terrific living area, kitchen, utility and toilet/shower room. In addition we have been able to do significant work on the patio which makes the inside/outside transition seamless with large bi-fold doors. 

Most significantly the extension has changed the way we live in our home with the extension now the focus of family living and entertaining. We are delighted with the high standard of workmanship and service from nest and are thrilled with our new space.
