Our client’s Roanna and Jame’s four bedroom house wasn't working for them in its current state – there was enough floor space, however they felt the rear of the house would benefit from reconfiguration, particularly the kitchen, family room and dining room. The existing main staircase was positioned awkwardly, making access difficult to adjacent rooms.

The client stayed in the house during the works and nest worked to ensure that the noise, dust and inconvenience were kept to a minimum.

Major demolition work removed nine internal load bearing walls and heavy steelwork was installed. The full rear elevation was removed alongside much of the existing roof. We manufactured and installed the main staircase in a much better location and carried out an attic conversion to create a new master bedroom and luxury ensuite with dormer window.

Downstairs the contemporary open plan kitchen leads to a beautiful dining room and open plan living space with double open-sided fireplace. We formed a utility room off the main kitchen, two new downstairs offices off the hallway at the bottom of the new stairs.

The house needed a full rewire, central heating system, decorative works and new flooring throughout. Externally we formed a wrap around decked area with direct access to the garden.

The house has been completely transformed and all spaces now flow and function superbly – and look incredible.
