We carried our a massive upgrade to a detached Dorran built property near Callander in the Trossachs. The property lacked proper insulation, required a new roof, needed improved kerb appeal and a full interior refurbishment.

We chose a simple stone cladding system which is secured to a subframe of timber and specialist backing board. This allowed us to install solid insulation within the timber frame to reduce heat loss and increase insulation. The larch cladding complements the stone and over a few months has faded to grey to match the stone.

We installed a new roof, solar panels, new doors and windows throughout, plus a woodburning stove in the lounge.

The interior has been completely transformed with a Scottish Scandi feel with a range of unique artworks. Sheepskin rugs, Timorous Beasties fabrics and natural woods give the house a cosy, homely yet stylish feel.

The external areas were upgraded, contemporary landscaping completed and a new outdoor snug with woodburner and pétanque court, plus a kid's den added.

Rental yields have increased and the old and new guests and the press have all commented positively on the transformation. The house has huge appeal now it has metamorphosed into an impressive contemporary rural home.
